History

The "Kekwan" was comprised of a group of men who lived in Philadelphia in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They held regular monthly meetings from at least December 1899 to May 1917, at which they ate dinners, smoked cigars, and discussed news articles and other topics. They often held meetings at members' homes, and occasionally visited cultural sites.
