Richard Fry papers 1734-1756
Butler Clarkson was born in England in July 1832, and moved to Lansingburgh, New York, before 1857. He was a butcher. On September 25, 1867, he married Alida Lansing (b. ca. 1843), a direct descendant of Lansingburgh's founder; they had five children: Nellie (b. 1869), John, Lizzie, William, and Lillian. The couple lived with Alida's parents, Abram J. and Sarah Lansing. Butler Clarkson died on December 21, 1903.
