History

Biography:

Blanche LeStrange was born April 1, 1889 in Lincoln Township, Mount Pleasant, Michigan, to William and Mary Ann (Troy) LeStrange. A lifetime area resident, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Catholic Daughters. She was proceeded in death by her parents and two brothers, William and Frank (Francis). She died at age 96 in Mount Pleasant on August 24, 1985.

William LeStrange died in Grand Rapids on December 21, 1954. He was proceeded in death by his wife, the former Jenny Kenny. Surviving him were their son, Reginald of Traverse City, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Collins (Felice) of Grand Rapids, Marion, at home, and a brother-in-law, James Kenny of Mount Pleasant.

Mary Ann (Troy) LeStrange was a pioneer resident of Mount Pleasant. She was born the daughter of John and Jane Troy in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. She came to Saginaw at an early age and later moved to Isabella County, where she married William LeStrange. They then moved to a farm in Irishtown. Mary Ann was widely known in Mount Pleasant through her long residence there and her business associations in the past, when she was active in the real estate business. She died at age 84 on April 14, 1939 in Mount Pleasant.
