History

Biography:

The son of Arlene (Louks) and J.D. Keller, Mark Keller (1950- ) graduated in 1968 from Caro [Michigan] High School. He earned a B.A. in history from Albion College (1972) and a master’s degree in history from Central Michigan University (1976). After teaching he became a professional researcher mainly of Native American topics as well as of local history and genealogy. He wrote histories for the Keweenaw Bay and Saginaw Chippewa tribes, and researched and wrote Recognition Reports for the Lake Superior Chippewa of Marquette and the Swan Creek, Black River Ojibwa of Saginaw.
