History

Organizational History:

The Central Michigan University (CMU) Student Social Activities Committee (SSAC) was active from 1925 through at least 1967. The SSAC was composed of both students and professors. Each year it sponsored an all-college conference at CMU, which lasted between a day to a week and covered a variety of topics with speakers from outside of CMU. One of the notable conference speakers was Senator Eugene McCarthy.
