Organizational History:

Central Michigan University developed a placement office by 1965 to help place its education graduates in teaching positions. In 1977, the office became the Placement and Career Information Center (PCIC). The PCIC fell under the Division of Student Affairs in 1987. During 1996-1997, it was called the Career Services Resource Center (CSRC). In 1998, the name was shortened to Career Services.

The main publication of Career Services is the Job Listings, 1986-2002. The last paper issue of the Job Listing was distributed in June 2002. Later issues are available only in electronic format. The newsletters in the collection have had various names. Currently, in 2004, the newsletter is Career View, and is available in an e-version. The newsletter is online and ongoing.

Later additions to the collection have been added over time.
