History

Biography:

Glen D. Oren (b. 1893) is listed in the federal census for Michigan in 1910 living with his parents, John D., a hardware merchant, born in Ohio, and his mother, Esther, living in Duplain, Clinton County, Michigan. Both Esther and Oren were born in Michigan. In the 1920 census Glen Oren, age 27, merchant, married to Ruth Oren, age 24, is listed as living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The 1930 census lists Glen Oren, age 37, a merchant of a dry goods store, is listed as being married to Ruth B., age 35, living in Shepherd, Isabella County, Michigan, with children: Winona E., age nine, Mila L., age six, and Newell L. age one-and-a-half. Glen and Ruth were married when they were age 26 and 24, respectively. Additional information about Glen D. Oren is unknown. Collection Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of 74, mostly undated, glass-plate negatives, all measuring 4 inches x 5 inches. The collection is organized alphabetically by topic. Some of the views are of Beulah and Elsie, Michigan, undated, while others are of Ohio in 1909. The other topics in the collection include animals, buildings, carriages, the Corrigan family, families, field views, groups of people, machinery, river views, and women. The collection is in good physical condition.
