Mar 10th Evening

Dear Father

I have been hard at
work all day preparing for a march
- ever since 3 this morning and am
now pretty tired. The mail has just
come in & no letters for me. WeUnited States. Army. Michigan Infantry Regiment, 7th (1861-1865). Company I start
to morrow morning at 8 o'clock to join
our division in Virginia near Harper's Ferry.Harpers Ferry (W. Va.) Our men are in poor condition
to carry their luggage their arms being
sore - most of them from the effects of their
vaccinations. I dont know how far we
shall march to morrow. It has been
raining to day and is quite muddy
and traveling will be bad as the soil is
a stiff clay. I cant write more now
direct letters as usual. I have sent my
extra luggage home. Travis will see to it
I sent 1 overcoat 1 pants 1 blanket & my shoes
Love to Mother & Charlie & all the Uncles
aunts & cousins
