Scope and Content:: The record group has been arranged into four series: Background/Informational; President's Files; National Business League, and Wallace Williams File. Included are scattered business and membership directories, newsletters, and annual meeting programs; records of organization presidents Homer D. Waterman, Joseph W. Williams, and Wallace Williams; and files relating to its relations with the National Business League, 1968-1970.
Biographical / Historical:: The Booker T. Washington Business Association was organized in 1930 by a small group of Detroit business and professional men headed by William H. Peck. The original name of the organization was the Booker T. Washington Trade Association. One of the purposes of the organization was to promote the development of local businesses.
Acquisition Information:: The record group was donated by the organization (donor no. 8956 ) in 1999-2000. Some published material came from Wardell Croft (donor no. 8895 ).
Accruals:: No further additions to the records are expected.
