Correspondence (mainly family letters) [series]

The Correspondence series consists mainly of letters exchanged among family members and business associates. Although the files date from 1817 to 1845, the great bulk of the papers are in the period of approximately 1830 to 1870. Of interest are the letters written by James O. Whittemore while teaching school in Kentucky and Georgia in the period of 1851-1854.
