Visual Materials [series]

The majority of the Visual Materials series (1965-1995, 2.3 lin. ft.) consists of artists' and musicians' photographs assembled with the intent of using the images for publicity purposes. It includes concert photographs, candid images, and a few promotional shots. The series contains mainly Michigan-based jazz, blues, and pop artists although it also represents national and international musicians. Artists either associated with Strata Corporation, MSA, or the Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festivals typically have the most images. Many of the photographs were taken by Leni Sinclair. This series also contains film reels showing the Contemporary Jazz Quintet Concert at the 1972 Ann Arbor Blues and Jazz Festival. Also included are posters, album covers, and miscellaneous other publicity.
