Day by day register of abstracts of the contracts recorded at the record-office (grapheion) of Tebtynis during the four last months of the 2nd year of the Emperor Claudius. - Col. III, abstract 13 records an acknowledgment of receipt of 13 1/2 artabai of wheat, with promise to repay the same, registered on May 20, 42 A.D. (see also Verso, col. III, 7)

Translation
Nikomedes, son of Phanias who is also called Phanesis, a Persian of the epigone, about 27 years old, with a scar on the forehead to the left, acknowledges to Herakles, son of Aphrodisios(?), about 45 years old, with a scar on the right thumb, that he has received from him in cash 13 1/2 new clean artabai of wheat free from dirt, by the measure of the granary of Heroides, son of Nikomedes, in Kerkesoucha Orous. He will repay it in the month Drousieus of the present year.
Signatories: Ptolemaios, son of Chairemon, about 72 years old, with a scar above the left elbow; for the other, Apollonios, the son, about 32 years old, with a scar above the right shin.
The rest in conformity.
