- Translation
- Apollonous to Terentianus, her brother, greetings and continual good health. I want you to know that since I wrote to you before about my affairs, now . . . that the full amount of the rent and the seed will surely be available. And do not worry about the children; they are in good health, and they are kept busy with a teacher. And about your fields, I have reduced your brother's rent to the extent of two artabai. Now I receive from him eight artabai of wheat and six artabai of vegetable seed. And do not worry about us and take care of yourself. I understood from Thermouthas that you obtained for yourself a pair of belts, and I was much gratified. And about the olive yards, they are quite productive so far. And the gods willing, if it is possible, come to us. I wish you to be in good health, and your children and all your kin salute you. Farewell.

- "Comparison of PCol VIII 215 with PMich 464 of 99 suggests that both letters were sent by the same person; they share the following features: (1) the name of the sender; (2) PMich 464, 17 refers to a Thermuthas; the recipient of PCol 215 is called Thermouthas, and another Thermuthas occurs in 26-27. (3) The request for a visit at the end of the letters, couched in virtually identical words (4) The body of both letters starts off in a similar fashion (5) Apollonus uses the same expressions to urge her correspondents to look after themselves.
- P.Mich 464 was found at Karanis, in the same structure as SB VI 9244, a receipt issued by the sitologi of the Arsinoite village Philopator, in which Apollonous appears as an agent of a man who pays taxes for land at Bacchias. The picture emerging from the receipt tallies with the one we may glean from PMich 464, in which Apollonous tells Terentianus, among other things, that "in his absence she is managing his farms".
