Conservation Status
Apart from some holes in the middle of the papyrus along the central fold, the papyrus is undamaged. Two vertical folds are visible. On the left a narrow margin of 1 cm. Between the text of the document and the dating-formula, the scribe has left a interval of 4 cm; below the date, an interval of 3 cm. No traces of writing on the back.
Palaeographic Description
A standard byzantine semi-cursive hand.

"... year he refused to adhere to the rules of his employment but walked away from his work in my workshop. Therefore I call upon you, Your learnedness, to ensure his appearance and to listen to the cause of the dispute between us in a form which is suited to please you, highly-learned defensor and master.
Under the reign of our most divine and honorable Master Flavius Justinianus, the eternal Augustus and Imperator, in year 16, under the consuls after the consulate of the most illustrious Flavius Basilius, on the 17th Epeiph of the 6th indiction."
