A light-brown papyrus with a dark strip 1 c. from the left edge. At the right side a strip of papyrus (1.1 cm. broad at the bottom) with horizontal fibers is visible. We are probably dealing with a piece of papyrus which originally was a protocollon.
Palaeographic Description
Cursive hands typical of the Byzantine period.

Front: "In the consulship of our master Flavius Anastasius the eternal Augustus for the 3rd time and the most illustrious Venantius, Phaophi 3, 1st indiction. Aurelius Pelagios, son of David and Thekla, from the village of Nesmimis in the Oxyrhynchite nome to Aurelius Victor, son of Phoibammon, - - - of the most magnificent comes Abraamios of the city of the Oxhynchites, greetings. I acknowledge that, in full, I have received from you now the mutually concluded and to me agreeable price of thirty-one artabas of wheat and twenty artabas of barley, total 31 art. of wheat and 20 art. of barley, which products I shall dutifully deliver to you in barley and wheat that is new, pure, and sifted, by the proper tenth measure in the month of Payni of the current year from the new harvest of the D. V. second indiction with no delay acknowledging your right of execution upon me and upon all my belongings. The contract written in one copy is enforceable and in reply to the formal question I have so declared. (2nd hd.). I, Aurelius Pelagios, son of DAvid, the aforementioned have received in full the price of thirty-one artabas of wheat and of twenty artabas of barley and I shall deliver them within the appointed time and I agree with all the above-written. I, Aurelius Samuel, son of Serenos, have written for him at his request since he does not know letters. (3rd hd.) | Through me, N. N., it has been accomplished.
