The unknown petitioner of this document had purchased a quantity of wine from one Aurelia Isidora, paying for it in advance; as delivery never took place, the purchaser requests that the instrument of sale (a copy of which is here in l. 1-16) be publically registered in Alexandria and that the archidikastes order to the nome strategos that notice be served on the vendor

Translation
[- - -] for which I will supply new vessels, from the vineyard [that I own near . . .] at the vat, without delay, [in the month of Mesore, by the measure with which] the vintage is ladled out. If I fail to do so, I shall pay twice [whatever] the price of wine [shall be at that time, as agreed and you shall have] right of execution against myself and [all my property. This] cheirograph, written in duplicate, [is valid wherever presented and for whoever] presents it on your behalf; and [when asked the fomal question I so declared. Year . . . of the Imperatores] Caesares Publius Licinnius [Valerianus and Publius Licinnius] Valerianus Gallienus Germanici [Maximi Pii Felices and Publius] Licinnius Cornelius [Saloninus Valerianus the most glorious Caesar], Augusti, [month, day].
[I, Aurelia Isidora], acting [without a guardian], have received from you [. . . This wine] I will deliver as stated, and in answer to the formal question [I so declared].
[Desiring] that of the cheirograph in two copies a single copy [be made public, I give] to the city, because a single copy is being published, [the fixed 12 drachmai and] the fee for publication; [and I ask that you take] this document from [my] representative, [- - -, signed] by him to the effect that [the subscription] is [in the hand] of Aurelia Isidora, and register [it together with this] application, the original in the [Library of Hadrian] and a duplicate thereof in that [of the Nanaion; and that you have an order] written to the strategos of the nome to serve [a copy of this application on Aurelia] Isidora, if she is still alive, and otherwise to [her adult] heirs; [or if her heirs are minors], to their legal guardians, whose [names] will be learned [on the spot], so that she may be informed and [deliver] to me the [. . .] keramia of wine, or know that I shall take the next appropriate steps concerning distraint; this [with no] prejudice to the other [claims] which I have [against her, as is proper].
