- Aurelius Philotas, son of P. . . [- - -] and Taerakleides, from the city of the Oxyrhynchi, now living in Seryphis, to Aurelia Herais, daughter of Diogenes, former exegete of the same city, through Aurelius Er . . ., greetings. I acknowledge that I have received from you on advance for the service of irrigation of the vineyard called "Nesos" (the Island) near the city, which I have on lease, in accordance with which lease I have (them), cattle with an evaluation of 1500 drachmai, and further retain (them), and, from the items indicated through the same lease, that I received from you likewise for an instalment out of 1500 drachmai the 500 drachmai of the first payment for the present month of Hathyr, and that I will pay back everything in accordance with the lease, but the catle in accordance with the written stipulation concerning them, with the irrigations remaining valid both of this same lease and of the other lease which I have of another of your vineyards, on all the terms which each lease provides, with the right of execution existing from me and from all my property. This document, written in two copies, is valid, and having been asked concerning the fact that these things are right (and) fair, I gave my acknowledgment. Year 5 of the Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Pius Felix and Marcus Aurelius Alexander Caesar, Augusti, Hathyr 2.
