Conservation Status
The papyrus is broken off at the bottom, but only the lower margin has been lost. At the points where the papyrus was folded it is damaged and a few letters are lost. On the back there are five patches (small long strips) of papyrus for keeeping the three vertical strips of the papyrus together. Ancient or modern repairs?
Palaeographic Description
Upper and left margin c. 1.2 cm.Between the many body of the contract and the dating formula at the end there is a space of c. 3.5 cm left blank

Content
A cheirographon contact (letter-contract type). Artemisia hires Isidora and two other castanet dancers to perform at a festival at her house at Philadelpheia. She will be paid 36 drachmai per day, plus 4 artabai of barley and 24 pairs of bread loaves.

Translation
To Isidora, castanet dancer, from Artemisia of the village of Philadelphia. I wish to engage you with two other castanet dancers to perform at the festival at my house for six days beginning with the 24th of the month Payni according to the old calendar, you to receive as pay 36 dtacmai for each day, and for the entire period 4 artabai of barley and 20 pairs of bread loaves; and whatsoever garments or gold ornaments you may bring down, we will guard these safely; and we will furnish you with two donkeys when you come down to us and a like number when you go back to the city.
